Day Fifty Two: Salvation in the Midst of A Storm

It doesn't appear that things will get back to normal anytime soon. Many have accepted this way of life, and some have even embraced it. It is hard to maintain any perspective when you really don't understand why this is all happening. I admit that as the days pass I am convinced that the enemy forces inside our government and around the world are pushing their electronic currency. They are creating a fear that defies all common sense around physical cash.

What people need is a savior. They don't want to admit it, so instead they look to their government to save them. They demand that they do something to alleviate their pain and suffering. They want government to take care of them. It is getting to the point where some are willing to take up arms to take back their freedoms. I do get a sick feeling when I contemplate what I'm seeing in our state right now. It is also happening in other "blue" states as well. There is a strong push to get a mandatory vaccine in place before opening up the states.

The mandatory push for masks inside buildings is just the beginning, I fear of what is coming soon. The technology is there and is being used to monitor your every move. They want that control now over every aspect of your life. People are starving right now because of this edict. It is not far-fetched now to imagine that people who don't abide by the edicts will suffer the consequences for their actions. They think wrongly that a mask will save them from contracting this virus. They think wrongly that a vaccine will save them from this virus. It won't. It is the same wrong thinking that has everyone going for a flu shot every year. Vaccines have a history of making people sick. You do have to ask yourself why they are pushing this. The answer is that the people are pushing for it. They want to be saved by the medical industry. They don't understand, and are not willing to listen to God.

In Psalms 3:8 (KJV) we read: "Salvation belongeth unto the Lord, thy blessing is upon thy people." You can't depend on the government or the medical industry. Yes, God does work through the government and the medical industry. He has worked miracles through them. Psalms 37 is a good passage about how God will punish the wicked and transgressors, but at the end of the chapter in verse 39 we read: "But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord; he is their strength in time of trouble." I truly believe that the wicked ones in power right now will soon face a day of reckoning. Our cries for deliverance and salvation from the evil ones is being heard. So, I say this: Psalms 62:1(KJV) "Truly my soul waiteth upon God; from him cometh my salvation." I do also pray that Psalms 60:5 (KJV) "That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me."

God is sending a wake up call for the church that has been effectively closed for fifty two days now. Some churches have been brave enough to open for the very few people who don't have access to the Internet. I thank those brave church leaders who are defying edicts to save souls. You may think that you're okay because you are conducting church online. You aren't. Your fear of the government edicts have drawn you to be silent about the urgent need for repentance. The message you are encouraging is detrimental to the message that God needs you to preach. Salvation comes from the Lord. Acts 4:12(KJV) speaks this clearly. It reads: "Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." I may be wrong but I haven't heard one pastor or organization bring this message across to anybody. I'd like to see the National Day of Prayer be a day of fasting and repentance for this land.

Salvation isn't just for the Jews in Israel. In Acts 28:28(KJV) we read: "Be it known therefore unto you that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it." We have a great platform to reach people for God, but we're losing them when we preach the "soft" stuff and not give them a good reason to reach out to God. I believe that this is the reason why the church grew so fast in the 1920 era. People were looking to be saved, and understood that God was the only way to be saved.

This is the perfect time to proclaim the message that Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved. If we keep silent now, then what are we waiting for? It calls into question of whether or not you truly believe in God's salvation. Romans 10:9(KJV) gives us a road map of how we can truly know that we are a part of God's family. It reads: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." I truly believe that it is way past time to tell others about Jesus and what they will be saved from when they accept his sacrifice.

Titus 3:5(KJV) is a good reminder that we can go through the motions and not really be saved. God is "spitting out" those that are going through the motions "just because" and have no real commitment to the cause of Christ. It reads: "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of the Holy Ghost." I wonder why no one is pushing this anymore. Yes, all the music and the sharing is a good thing. We all need to be encouraged. I can't help thinking though that it's all "fluff" and we don't have our heads in the game. I admit that I've been stuck too with these non-helpful messages. It just makes me long more for the sermons that offered salvation, and told people that they would burn in hell for all eternity without Christ.
