Day Fourteen: Giving Thanks in The Midst of A Storm

There is a lot to be thankful for even in the midst of this huge storm. We don't have to be stressed out and fearful anymore. Satan thinks that he has won. He hasn't. The closing of the physical churches has only strengthened our resolve to fight. We won't take this lying down. Satan and his minions who think they are now controlling our local, state and federal government by closing down businesses is really not controlling them. I have hope that this season of trial will make us all stronger and more reliant on God.

God is good. This heavy trial that we are all going through is ultimately for our good. It might not feel like it now. You may be stressing about where your journey will lead you. You may be wondering how God is going to provide. Your doubts and fears may be escalated due to the "doom and gloom" messages the deceitful media is spreading. I know for myself that I started getting more in God's word through these daily blogs. Many others are also latching onto his Word and gathering strength for this battle.

Yes, we are in a battle, but as we read in I Chronicles 16:34 (KJV) "Oh give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth forever." We should give thanks for his great mercy on us. We have sinned greatly by allowing the perversion of the past decade or so to overwhelm us. All of us know how far we have fallen as a nation and throughout the world. We have collectively shunned God in every sector of our lives. We have given in to the perversion of same sex marriage and abortion on demand. Some have stood up but their voices have been muffled by Satan and his minions. Even so God's mercy endures.

I am constantly amazed by his mercy towards us. When I read in 2 Corinthians 4:15, "For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God." So I am giving thanks in the midst of this storm because I know that God's glory will be reflected in it. The churches that are now closed will have a reckoning soon. The leaders of those churches will have to decide to follow God's leading and purge the wickedness or face permanent closure. It is not by accident that these closures happened. It is a wake up call for these churches. Those that don't provide alternative means for the disenfranchised among us to hear the word will effectively be "snuffed" out eventually. I truly believe that. Oh, they may continue to have an online "presence" for those who have itching ears, yet their ministry will be ineffective in reaching these lost souls.

You may argue that your church is doing just fine with just online access. You may say that this is the future and everyone is online. Please don't get me wrong. I am thankful for the Internet because it has allowed the church to meet online. What I am seeing though, which is deeply disturbing, is the lack of alternatives for those who don't have access. This is why I say that your ministry will be ineffective and you may lose your physical locations. So while I do give thanks to God for this venue and the ability to communicate online, I pray that the leaders of these churches take heed to what I am saying. During this time leaders do have a perfect opportunity to spearhead efforts to reach the disenfranchised for Christ. Don't waste it.
