Day Forty Seven: Finding Stability in the Midst of A Storm

My greatest longing is a sense of stability. There are some days that I fantasize what a secure environment would be for me. I've listened to the fear mongering news reports and tried to make sense of all that is happening. It hasn't been easy. I no longer have the anchors that I had a few months ago. The church is closed to me. The government is busily taking away my freedoms, and destroying the country's infrastructure. My fellow citizens are cowering in fear, and ratting out on their neighbors for living their lives.

There is no stable ground here. We are in the midst of a storm, even though there are some good signs that this storm is starting to diminish. The cases of the virus are declining. That is a good thing, yet I can't help but wonder at what cost? Our trust in government has eroded along with any trust in our fellow man. The enforced quarantine of many thousands has severely eroded any sense of stability. Some of us are just about ready to take up arms and fight to take back the freedoms we lost.

In Psalms 103:19(KJV) we are reminded that "The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all." 2 Samuel 22:32(KJV) asks and confirms where our stability should lie. It reads: "For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God?" In these two verses I glean that God's kingdom rules over all. He is our rock and stronghold against the forces of evil. We have seem to have lost this concept over the past thirty years....at least that's the way I see it. It may be longer than that. It is important for us to understand the concept that God is in control. He will provide that stable environment that I crave.

Isaiah 33:6(KJV) states: "And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation; the fear of the Lord is his treasure." Isaiah 33 is a very interesting chapter as it exacts judgement on those that spoil and was not spoiled themselves. It also says that those who deal treacherously will reap the treachery on themselves. I do see this happening to those who are now in the process of destroying this nation for their own benefits. God will be exalted. Those that have turned their collective backs on him will receive their day of reckoning very soon. It is coming.

Our stability is not in the world. There will come a day when we will all be held in account for our actions. Matthew 7:24-27(KJV) tells it plainly: "Therefor whoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock; And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the wind blew, and beat upon the house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock. And everyone that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand; And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the wind blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell; and great was the fall of it." We are seeing this now. Some in our nation, one party in particular has exchanged the stability we have in God, for the instability of the world.

Now is not the time to give into the instability of the world with its lure of instant gratification. Now is the time that we must push forward, and reject the agenda that is being pushed. I know it is hard. I know that everything within you wants to give up. 1 Corinthians 15:58(KJV) is a good verse to keep in mind when you are struggling in the midst of this storm. It reads: "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." You may think that you are not making any impact or that you are helpless. You are not if you are not selfishly looking out for yourself.

I may or may not have related this in this blog, but I felt compelled to start this blog. I knew that it was the Lord's leading for me to take on this challenge, even if only one person read it. An important thing to always recall is that it was the Lord's sacrifice on the cross that made it possible for us to have a hope for eternal life with God. Colossians 1:22-23(KJV) states this clearly when it says: "In the body of his flesh (Jesus) through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: (God the Father) If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creatures which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister."

This is my ministry right now. I am blessed to have this forum where I can post these blog posts.
