Day Twelve: Peace in the midst of a storm
The normal reaction to a crisis like we are going through right now is panic and anxiety. No one really knows what's going on, and the governors are doing their best to keep the peace. Yet I do see that by their actions some are increasing the panic and anxiety. If you follow social media for any length of time you begin to realize that the media is feeding the frenzy. Their ultimate goal is to control everyone. Satan loves poverty stricken people, for they are the most vulnerable and pliant to his schemes. He'd love nothing more than to have the whole world beholden to his chosen Messiah.
I can't predict what's going to happen but am assured that as it says in John 16:33 (KJV) "These things I have spoken to you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world." If you go back to the preceding verses in John, Chapter 16, you begin to realize that Jesus is not just speaking of what was about to happen to him. He was actually giving the disciples a kind of road map of what would happen in the coming age. He was also giving them the tools to handle any situation. Jesus promised to give everyone who believes in him an advocate and defender. He told them that whatever they asked for in his name, they would receive. The key is that we can't ask for something selfishly. We have to ask believing that God has placed that burden on our hearts. This corresponds with Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) which states "Be careful for nothing: but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
I know it has been hard to have any peace when you feel so helpless. The evil around us is growing stronger by the day. Admittedly I have felt that peace ooze away at times during the past two weeks as the news media has created a panic driven situation. The president has tried to thwart their efforts to no avail, but I am heartened that he is praying along with some of the members of his cabinet. He believes that there is peace in the midst of this storm. That's a good thing. I shudder to think about what this country would have been like if God hadn't intervened and placed our president in office.
You may laugh at me for thinking that President Trump was placed in office by God for such a time as this. The tremendous pressure and ridicule from the unbelievers and Satan's minions tells me that this is so. There wasn't any pressure when President Obama was in office. In fact we saw an increase in perversion that we had never seen before endorsed by the highest office in the land. We are now paying for that perversion.
